Guides >> How to Play ROMs on Android >> Mobile Instructions
Here are universal instructions for the majority of emulators, including NES, SNES, N64, GBC, GBA, NEO GEO, ATARI, MAME, SPECTRUM, SEGA, and CAPCOM emulators. I have tested it for almost every system and works beautifully, however I have not tried every single emulator out there. Once you emulate your first ROM it will be much easier from there on. With these instructions, you should not have to touch a computer. *Most emulators recognize zip files, so there is no need to extract them anymore. This does not apply for PSX Games.File Manager
Most phones do not recognize .ZIP formats anymore, you will need a File Manager to download the files. The two I recommend are (you only need one or the other):AndroZip File Manager [Android Market Link]
Astro File Manager [Android Market Link]
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1. Emulator
Get an emulator, either from the Market or our Emulator section, like SNESoid, Tiger Arcade, Ataroid, etc...Step 2. ROM Manager
Purchase the ROM Leecher App. ROM Leecher allows you to download any game you want straight to your phone! It's $1.25 and well worth the purchase. The ROMs by default go into the /sdcard/Download/ folder (see screenshots below).Step 3. BIOS (Necessary for PSX, GBA, NEO GEO, and Atari)
If using any of the emulators listed above, you will need to download a BIOS File. To get a BIOS file, Download Bios Archive App. It simple & works great! The files will save to /sdcard/Download/ or just make sure it's in the same directory the ROMs are in.Step 4. Open Emulator
Open up your Emulator and it should instantly bring you to a list of folders on your SD card (Black Screen). **If you need a BIOS file, go to the /sdcard/Download/ folder and load it first before the ROM.Step 5. Play
Next, find the ROM you want and double click on it (all your games should be in the /sdcard/Download/ folder if you used Rom Leecher). Most emulators will be able to decipher .zip files, but PSX files are different. I advise using PC Installation for PSX until an easier method is discovered.* Lite/Free Versions do not have "save state." You'll have to buy the product to access that feature!
